It's Roald Dahl's birthday today and if he were still alive he would be 100.
It was through my daughter as she was growing up that I discovered Roald Dahl.
It is hard to pick a favourite quote but two I like are:
"Somewhere inside all of us is the power to change the world"

Happy Birthday Roald where ever you are - thank you for all the fantastic stories!

It's that time of the week again - it comes round so quick. Hurrah for Friday or should I say 'YAY"!
The hedgerows are still full of blackberries hence the bramble inspired friyay... have a fabulous weekend!
I found my calligraphy fountain pen, filled it up with ink and after a bit of practise, without too much ink being spilt, here is a FRIYAY ... have a great weekend!
A Friyay in watercolours that continues with the sunflower theme as it has been another hot and sunny day - hurrah!
Have a fantastic Bank Holiday Weekend!
August has been full of sunshine making me think of sunflowers so I pulled out the watercolours and had a go at painting one.
In Greek mythology I think it was Clytie who passionately loved Helios. She would stand on the earth watching him move across the sky. Her love was unrequited and standing for so long with her eyes fixed upon him, not eating or drinking, meant she eventually became rooted to the spot turning into a sunflower.
And that is why a sunflower's head always points towards the sun! I love Greek myths!

So it's been so long since I've written on here that I accidentally created my Friyay as Friday... doh! Anyway I also did an actual #Friyay too.... I mean I already had the 'Y' ;)
I'll catch you up on why we've been away on Sunday and get back to posting our adventures!

Recently time just seems to be slipping by, days merging into weeks and weeks into days. Without fail Friday keeps creeping up on us, another week over and a weekend begins.
So much to do and so little time as the saying goes.

When April shower's strike what do we see across the sky.... Rainbows! They're today's inspiration for this weeks #Friyay shown in dots.
Roll on the weekend!
Happy Easter! Hope you're having a wonderful day with your loved ones eating a tonne of chocolate and chilling out. A and I are currently having a bit of a movie marathon and on Friday we headed out to enjoy the Kent countryside (post on Tuesday!)
To celebrate my love of mini eggs I created the above illustration, it's sad to think another year of eating them is over... but I can't wait for the warmer weather.
A's Highlight of the week: Wandering around the Kent countryside in the sun on Friday.
L's Highlight of the week: Same as A!
Enjoy the rest of the Bank Holiday!

I'm loving my #Friyay challenge, creating a new spin on my love of the word is proving to be super fun. This week I've gone for primary style bright stripes.
Have a great Easter! L x
Happy Friday... or Friyay! A neon sign felt appropriate for the start of the weekend.
